Erasmus+ Visits Governor of Tyrol

Right at the beginning of the school year, our Erasmus+ class was surprisingly chosen to participate in a discussion with our governor. Mr. Günther Platter was very interested in our Erasmus+ project on environment and health. We in Tyrol are affected by the glaciers dying due to global warming, on the other hand, we are overrun by transit traffic through the Alps. Tyrol is a tourist region and is also economically dependent on the maintenance of our nature. The cable car industry is highly interested in innovative, technical innovations and has already presented the new snow groomers, which are operated without emissions. The 2,000 snow groomers on the road in Austria consume around 30 million liters of diesel per year. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 40,000 tonnes. From this discussion, it was again emphasized that prospective elementary educators have an essential role to play in environmental education.
